This proper title course of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), provides people who take it with the knowledge and skills to establish, implement and improve a Management System, as well as to audit it internally and for external Certification based on each of the standards of the regulatory framework, preparing them to perform management and responsibility functions in the area of Quality and Safety, according to the Reference Standards.

The Course focuses on results and continuous improvement, providing a framework to design, implement and evaluate the processes to manage the business’s quality and safety operations, through management principles to facilitate the achievement of quality and safety objectives.

It also focuses on providing the knowledge and experience-based examples necessary to implement the business culture required for establishing a Management System. in the organization that ensures that the product and services of the project meet the expectations of the NATO military client.

The main objective of this NATO Quality and Security Direction Course is to train students to implement, develop and improve the Management System. To achieve this, the people who take it will develop the necessary skills to:

The main objective of this NATO Quality and Security Direction Course is to train students to implement, develop and improve the Management System. To achieve this, the people who take it will develop the necessary skills to:

  • Identify the organization’s key processes.

  • Apply the requirements of EN ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022.

  • Verify the NATO Quality Assurance clauses of the Reference Standards for NATO-compliant SMSs – AQAP / AS / ISO/IEC – ENS

  • Define and validate the essential Quality and Security aspects of the Software Management System.

  • Establish practical SMS objectives and key indicators and how they will be met.

  • Provide confidence in the Supplier’s ability to deliver compliant products for Aviation, Space, and Defense.

  • Comply with the basic principles and minimum requirements of the ENS of Royal Decree 311/2022.

  • Verify the concepts of quality and safety in the various roles and responsibilities within the organization.

  • Verify, evaluate, validate, and supervise the operational elements of the Management System processes.

  • Monitor and improve the performance of the Management System.

  • Establish audit objectives, criteria, and tools.

  • Practice documented information, objective evidence, and compliance with requirements and demands.

  • Act as a facilitator for the execution of roles and responsibilities within the organization.

  • Promote supervision, conduct internal audits, and review the Management System by management.

  • Carry out planning and compliance for external inspections, audits, and certification.
