Allied Quality Assurance Publications (AQAP) are standards established by NATO to ensure that products and services supplied meet essential quality requirements in the context of international defense and security. These standards are adopted by broad sectors in member and associated countries seeking to supply goods and services to NATO.

Although the number of companies working for NATO under AQAP-PECAL standards is not a public figure, which is due to the fact that contractual relationships between NATO and its suppliers are confidential and companies that adopt these standards can do so both for direct contracts with NATO and for projects in collaboration with national armed forces under the NATO umbrella, the strong demand for goods and services for Defense means that their number is on the rise.

In countries such as Spain and other NATO member countries, numerous companies in the aerospace, defense and security sectors have implemented these standards to ensure that their quality assurance management systems meet high international demands, so that the adoption of AQAP standards is a fundamental requirement for companies that wish to participate in defense tenders and projects at an international level.
